Hey Jo! I've just been watching, along with my husband. As it happens my husband is a health and safety consultant, dealing in property, and he's so outraged by what we've watched he's offered to investigate this for you (at no cost) as it's something he comes across time and again. If you're interested, you could reply to this post. I will give you his email address and you could contact him with photos of the roof terrace, access to same and if you're happy to, the name of the property management company. Health and safety is quite often used as a blanket excuse to prohibit an activity that has had no previous associated risks or incidents and decisions are made by unqualified or over zealous risk averse persons!! I'll leave it with you. By the way, absolutely love your vlog!! x

“As a biologist, I have to say this is complete nonsense — the idea that “drinking too much milk with coffee is bad for you.” I drink a pint of it, and it’s perfectly fine. You do not lose the milk-digesting enzyme (lactase) just because you drink a lot of milk. Waitrose organic milk is the best! And Jo, I’m not telling you off — it’s just that some so-called wellness or nutrition “experts” really don’t know what they’re talking about. Some people naturally don’t have the enzyme, or have very little of it — those people are lactose intolerant. But for everyone else, drink milk! Calcium from milk is absorbed much better than calcium from supplements.”

“Congratulations! I bought my first apartment recently at 62, totally on my own and it's an achievement worth celebrating. A lifetime of happily renting, which I realised just in time became a precarious way to enter this last chapter... feeling a little more secure now. And how fun to finally decorate as I wish!”

“You should be able to claim on their insurance company upstairs to repair the cracks on your ceiling, floor and walls. It's their responsibility legally to fix all of the damage. The electrics in the ceiling light is probably damaged also. Get it all checked by an surveyor and put a claim in. Get their insurance details upstairs from the tenants or the landlord. Or get your insurance company to come out and inspect the damage to enter a claim against them. There's no way you should be paying for any of these repairs and redecoration.”

“My sweet Jo. New Yorker here (who spends a great deal of time in Farringdon) who worked in the World Trade Center until that day. Thank u 4 your tenderness. Those of us who survived it know that terrible things happen world wide + that we in the US are NOT special. It happened. We let it go. We give thanks 4 those of us who survived. We mourn for those around the globe who suffered tragedies + continue to fight for peace, equality, visibility + a seat at the table.”

“So, Jo! I am an American living presently in Devon. You are such an inspiration to me. I have watched you for years. In my fifties, I decided to apply for a student visa to England. I have always wanted the opportunity to not just visit England but really live in your lovely country-if only for a season in life. Your words and energy motivate me to grab life. Your joy is contagious! Thank you for making a difference.”
