“Forgot to mention one of the biggest issues at this level is there’s always some unhinged overweight bloke pushing 40 who’s flying recklessly into tackles deliberately trying to hurt people, often the youngsters that are trying to show a bit of skill. It completely puts people off playing… what’s the point? Paying to play and risking having a limp for the rest of your life cos some divorced alcoholic decided he’s gonna take his misery out on your knee just to feed his depressed ego. Everyone playing at this level has to get up for work the next day, and in this economy nobody can afford months out of work cos “Spud” shattered your leg. These blokes never go unpunished either. Ruined the casual game at that level.”
