You'll make bad decisions and regret it, just slow down and breathe, I nearly died 3 years ago and honestly it's such a life lesson! Just relax and enjoy the process, you are so lucky and blessed to be able to have such a fabulous house so just enjoy it. Hope you're not offended but I do see many people saying basically the same thing.”

“Aimee, get your carpenter to cut 3mm or 5mm plywood sheets to size and stick the to the island. It will be like a veneer. Then you can stain the plywood to match the peel and stick vinyl. It will be a very inexpensive fix. Or get B&Q to cut the sheets to size and glue/ double sided tape them to the island and then stain! You’ve got this girl!!!💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💚💚💚”

Getting things as you want them takes time and you need to live in the space before making any big decisions which you might regret at a later date.Even after 5 years you will still want to make changes but that’s the joy of choosing your favourite decor combined with practicality.Just breathe and don’t be in a rush to get everything perfect.❤️🥰”

“I worked for a designer and have done a lot of this myself. I agree with others. It seems you are panic shopping and buy things that don’t really go and are way too small. What’s the hurry? If this is your forever home, why not take the time to buy quality (and large pieces)? Throwing small pics on the wall is surprising. You need large statement pieces. At this rate, you’ll end up paying twice to three times the cost for all the cheaper stuff only to regret and replace it later. I noticed the homes in the UK, while beautiful, tended to have a bunch of small furniture all over the place. You also like clutter. Most pieces you want have to have all those shelves to put “stuff” on. Get rid of all that glassware. There were only those three large pieces with lids that looked amazing. Your sofa space is too far from your TV (cords should be run behind the wall). You have enough space to have two sitting areas for people to visit. That’s what is important. The family and friends who want to see us and celebrate our good fortune are way more important than filling a large home overnight with a bunch of fast-buy items. The home is lovely.”
