@machone5391.7Klikes1 commentMy buddy worked in China for about a year. Met a local girl and fell hard in love with her. He asked her and her family for her hand in marriage. The family required $30k cash, a car, and $50k for the little brother as a dowry. He did not understand and when he was done with the job, he just left. He could afford everything (he was already a home owner with two cars in the US) and more. What hurt him the most was his GF did not say anything when her parents were just listing off things he needed to get before the wedding. He said he would have gotten everything and more for her but he felt like he was being used. Marry for love and not for things.
