“Rassie giving his thoughts about Rennies comments makes the third game even more exciting and I am glad he said something because Rennie is continuing the complaining. Really hope the series is not remembered for comments about Refs that influence them but just for the spectacle it is”

“Tim, I have been an All Black fan all my life. The Boks are a fabulous team that breathe the same air as us. It's called passion. For some fans on both sides, the passion leads to fiery responses on anything that people may not agree with. But one thing is for sure...we will always come back to eachother and enjoy a beer and hold ourselves with respect and honour. It's the rugby way. I love our game so much that I can only say that Rugby is the winner at the end of the day. Much respect Tim. Your awesome mate 🍻”

“Fair play to the Wallabies, they were up for this game and absolutely dominated the Boks, good fight back but not enough in the end, think a few players have played themselves out of the Boks squad. Cant wait for the Bledisloe, where i can watch stress free as a neutral 😂”

“I’m a South African as well and although we lost, I thought he did a great job under immensely difficult circumstances. He’s not responsible for the communication problems that developed, he didn’t tell players to perform dangerous tackles, he didn’t tell players to do stupid offside stuff. If this badgering of referees after games is allowed to continue further then we’re not going to have any quality referees left one of these days. World rugby should ban these so-called rugby pundits from attending any rugby game ever again.”

“I would rather take the loss. If we won that game we would have been eaten alive online. We do not deserve to win the game with 15 min to play with only 35% possession. The Boks did not show up today. That was an absolute circus and disgrace on world rugby communication systems. Well done Aus for the win.”

“I am a Bok fan, and I genuinely believe that Piardi did the best he could under the circumstances. Rugby is a chaotic sport and refs and their assistants can't spot everything. Sad that we lost but not gonna blame the ref. The only area of improvement I think that needs to be looked at is time-keeping. Imagine if this happened in a World cup final, it needs to be sorted now as it could have disastrous consequences later on.”

“The Kiwis and Aussies arrogantly booted the Saffas who joined the Northern hemisphere competitions. Ultimately, it worked for the Saffas and the Southern hemisphere are poorer for it. This financial system was created by Rugby NZ and Australia and they are now reaping what they sowed!”

  1. Hi Tim, Just a humble message from a Springbok supporter in South Africa to say thank you for the wonderful coverage throughout the tour and especially for your thoughts and discussions around the final game between the Springboks and the All Blacks. Rugby is what makes this rivalry so special — two proud nations, plenty of passion, but ultimately a shared love and respect for the game. Win or lose, these matches remind us why Test rugby is so unique. I’ve really enjoyed following the Eggchasers Podcast during the tour. Your honest opinions, humour and willingness to look at the game from both sides make the discussions enjoyable, even when we don’t always agree! 😂 From South Africa, thank you to you and the team for the effort you put into covering the game. It’s been a fantastic tour, and hopefully the rivalry between the Boks and All Blacks continues to give us many more memorable battles. Respect to you, Tim — and well done on a great tour. 🇿🇦🏉🇳🇿 Cheers from South Africa! Piet

Watching from England. That was absolutely incredible!!!! Don’t ever go to the gutters with the Boks as they will physically and mentally destroy you. They completely controlled that 2nd half. Full credit must go to Rassie and those players 🙌🏼🙌🏼

There’s no crisis. We got humbled. We deserved to get humbled on the back of that performance. We played as badly as we could’ve and we still created chances, we had multiple entries, dominated the scrum in the first half. Everyone in green looked rusty and had a very bad day at the office. This just really heightens the series, ups the anticipation for Cape Town and will sharpen the Bok focus. Congratulations to New Zealand, much better on the day and well deserved winners!

A word on Siya, what a captain. He has won the past 8 matches he captained against the AB's, (Jesse was captain at Eden Park, Siya missed Ellis Park test), crazy!

I’m going to write an unusually harsh comment, but tonight’s defeat was the result of mismanagement by Rassie, both before and during the game. When we played Argentina a few weeks ago, Sacha was struggling and clearly still undercooked. When Pollard came on, he unlocked the game for the Boks, and that’s how we ended up winning. Yet today he wasn’t even on the bench. To me, that’s a huge mark of disrespect, because Handre has always gotten the short end of the stick whenever a new shiny fly-half appears on the scene. It happened in 2023 too: he wasn’t even initially selected for the World Cup, only to end up being the saviour. I also don’t understand why Ox was taken off so early when he was clearly sharp and absolutely dominating. He himself looked visibly surprised when he got told to leave the field. By contrast, Wilco Louw was kept on too long. He had a heroic shift, but he was ultimately exhausted, and that’s when we stopped winning scrum penalties. But the biggest concern for me was Grant Williams, who is not a starting Test nine. He’s an average scrum-half with exceptional pace, which makes him extremely useful when opponents are tired, but not in close, tight Test matches like this one. He was also exceptionally late to almost every ruck, and that lack of urgency ultimately gifted a try. Complete disaster. Sorry for the harsh words but in my opinion there’s a bit of complacency starting to creep into some of these selections and decisions. The only positives for the Boks were Jasper Wiese, who had an all-time performance, Damian Willemse, who is the best fullback in the world, and Wilco and Ox. As for New Zealand: Roigard, Ruben Love and Will Jordan. Hats off to you, gents. 👏
