“Singaporean here, has been living in Japan for 15 years, everytime I went back home to Singapore, I can't wait to return to Japan. Japan is my home now.”
“You are lucky that you are YouTuber so you can live anywhere you like and still work. Your child is still a baby, so it is a good time to explore. She does not go to school yet so there is more flexibility. Go for it. Looking forward to your Japan content when you decide to move there. It doesn’t matter whether you live in Singapore or Japan. You don’t have to justify your choice. Leaving Singapore doesn’t mean wrong. Don’t worry.”
“Man got tired of Singapore malls😆”
“The ability to change fries for McNuggets is what SG Mac Donald's can't beat.”
“Andrew comes across as a solid guy with a really positive outlook. Wishing him all the best in KL and wherever his camper van takes him. Inspiring interview.”
“taking a train > taking a flight, always, if you have the option. The convenience of trains just dropping off right in the city center, means you don't have to travel from the airport to the city, which could take hours.”
“I suddenly thought about your mom-in-law. Havent seen her in the videos for a long time. Hope she's well!”
“As a Singaporean female who also studied/worked in Japan, I can totally relate to Leeyon's and Gen's experieces. I studied at Tokyo University as a research student in architecture, then did an apprenticeship for a well known Japanese architect. I resonated with Leeyon when he said there is no advantage there. I think the time spent there was amazing and I learnt so much, but in the end I did not see my future there. I ended up moving to London. I did not make any Japanese friends in my first year there - super lonely, but everything changed when I moved to a Sharehouse where I lived with Japanese people and we are lifelong friends until today. I still love Japan alot and visit Tokyo at least once a year to solo hang out and catchup with meals with my friends there. Also I want to add that my Japanese skills are basic (my study and work were all in English) but I think even if I was fluent in Japanese (like Leeyon and Gen) I still wouldn't feel like I have a future there - Like what Gen said: Female, Young, Foreigner.”
“What a lovely lad. I can tell he has strong morals, cares about people and the world❤”
“I disagree with the person who said that people are afraid of being “Stomped” for not giving up their seats. Most of us give up our seats when we see someone who genuinely needs them, such as the elderly, those who are unwell, parents carrying toddlers, or young children. Of course, not everyone does, but I strongly believe many Singaporeans offer their seats out of kindness and consideration, not because of the signs. Additionally, we should not forget that nearly half the population in Singapore is non-Singaporean as well.”
“Gen is highly articulate and capable of analysing and presenting views in a detailed argument. Fit for a political candidacy”
“Thanks for the "brutally honest" review 😄 very much appreciated ...but honestly, your brutal honesty was politely done 😃, as expected of a jipunlang 🙃”
“1 reason I prefer Genki over Sushiro is that their engawa is nicer - bigger pieces of fish and no shisho leaf. I also usually avoid tuna unless it's honmaguro, most of the other types tend to taste weak and watery. Sushi Express California handroll doesn't have avocado which is a big minus. Another nice item at Sushiro and Genki is kanimiso but seems like they use different suppliers as it tastes slightly different between both of them.”
“I moved to Kota Kinabalu a few years ago before my eldest was born. Let me tell you, I love it here. Sure Singapore has its perks but here? My life is sooo much better”
“With every video, Ghib is becoming more and more Singaporean”
“As someone who worked briefly at sushiro, The bulk of their fishes are mainly from countries like vietnam and not japan. The ginger is recycled too. All the ginger from each table gets recycled into a big container to be reused again the next day.”
“The 2 nations that will never be apart.”
“Man. Sometimes I also feel like I want to hide in a rural town somewhere for a few months...”
“Thats what life is supposed to be. Relaxed and chill. no rush, no crowds. Sense of peace.”
“In Malaysia, the drinks are more expensive than the food. By the way the ferry used to operate from Changi point for $15. We used to carry our bikes over and cycle to Desaru. But now with the petrochemical plants, that place not so a safe place.”
“I think it is a pity that internet was down on the day you took the train. Saw the other youtubbers introducing business class and the display worked. There is a netflix app for them to play movies. Hence earpiece given. Agree with one of the commentors here that should take business class from kl to sg cos there is a dedicated lounge area for business class passengers.”
“Buttermilk was using better buns, now they use the McSpicy bun. It also kena shrinkflation. Japan Mcd Fries is 10x better because of the oil mix. Also the Ebi burger in Japan is way better than Ebi burger when it occasionally comes to Singapore.”
“Bro, didnt have a chance to eat his popiah 😅”
“He wasn’t rejected, he did not follow through with his initial visa request.”
