“My mum was t-boned while she was doing the speed limit and went head first into a telephone pole. Police said the only things that saved her was that she was doing the speed limit and was wearing her seatbelt properly. Even with that her car was totalled, her entire torso from her neck to her hips was completely black with solid bruising, she had significant swelling in her hip, chest, and neck which was at risk of putting pressure on her jugular, and had grade 2 whiplash. 5 weeks recovery in which she couldnt roll over in bed on her own. It happened 700m from our front door step. You can never be too careful because even when you're doing everything right there can be serious consequences.”

“My sister spent months in a brain injury unit after a car accident caused by someone else speeding. If more people saw the things we saw in that unit and the state people were bought in, then these speed courses wouldn’t be such a blasé laughing stock to post all over the internet and 20mph would be just fine.”

“Have you ever tried sweet red cabbage? In the Netherlands these are typically served with mash, gravy and sausage. They are in a glass jar from the brand Hak. But I think you can find something similar at Tesco. Its sweet red cabbage with apple, but the Tesco one is with red wine and jelly. If you ever feel bored here is a recipe: 1 small red cabbage (approx. 700-800 grams), very finely shredded or sliced 1 large, tart apple (e.g., Jonagold or Elstar), peeled and finely diced 3 tablespoons sugar (regular white granulated sugar) 3 tablespoons white distilled vinegar 150 ml water 1 scant teaspoon sea salt 1 heaping tablespoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons cold water The apple you add after the cabbage simmered for 1 hour. And then after 15 min add the starch water. And after few minutes its done.”
