“Hes furious? Of course, it's the first time he has ever got any push back. The media has fellated him for years.”

“On the first point about Burnhams communication. We've just observed the "traditional lobby/media" effectively destroy a perfectly boring prime minister, and didn't have the pathway to counteract the narrative once it had begun, (nor the ability to communicate at all really). By establishing from the start, that you have your own methods of disseminating policy, you regain control of the narrative. It's what Trump did, and now the MSM in the US just has to play catch up to his 2am rage tweets or whatever. I don't think the media lobby has done Labour any favours, and binning that off isn't surprising at all.”

“One of the biggest issues with the lobby is that they are the default attendees at a press conference and so ask questions about Westminster rather than the policy. If there's a health policy announcement, have a health journalist go and scrutinise the actual policy.”

“the whole argument of this even things up shows just why it's an issue! 2024 Labour received £64.76million from unions, who collectively had a little over 6million members, so that's a little over £10.70 per member. The aim of that was to improve working law/legislation/conditions for those 6million+ people (a little under 10% of the UK population, or 17% of the working population) plus wider all workers. Harborne and Delo donated £72million for the purposes of improving legislation and conditions for Harborne and Delo (0.0000029% of the UK population, or 0.0000058% of the working population) to make more money. They couldn't give two s#its about you, me, workers or anyone else in this country!”

“The American historian Heather Cox Richardson is doing an amazing job of painting the whole picture of what is going on with the Trump administration. Honestly the scale of the corruption and the attempts to create a dictatorship are mind boggling. Her "letters from an American' is well worth following. It shows how fragile a democracy can be when you elect a morally corrupt and openly racist leader.”

“One for the appealing things about social media over mainstream journalism is that what you think of as hard hitting questions, we find cliché and so very dull. “Are you going to resign?” to any cabinet minister in trouble. “Early general election?” after any change in policy or leadership. “How are you going to pay for it?” for any spending plan but notably not for tax cuts. “Do you agree with the president?” after any stupid outburst. And the worst bit is no matter what they say, they’ll be asked the same question in the next interview, the next day, maybe even by the same journalist. Dull dull dull. An interesting social media strategy has to have at least some variety, and that’s what they’re getting right by spending time on that instead of yet another “where’s your mandate? Early genny lex?””

“£5000 is indeed a tiny sum in the world of absolute corruption and hypocrisy (otherwise known as local government) unless of course if you were a post office worker when it was more than enough to destroy your life.”
