“What people do not understand is Dubai being Muslim you cannot pay interest. There are no direct debits. You buy a car on credit over 5 years you sign 50 cheques. If you bounce a cheque in Dubai it’s three years in prison. So you lose your job and cannot clear 36 remaining cheques. You have two choices drive to the airport and abandon everything. Or be imprisoned for three years for bouncing a cheque. You then get an additional 105 years for the other 35.”
