I’m married to a foreigner and I’m proud to say I never ever asked him for money even when I needed it. When he said he would send me some before even meeting me in person, I said no. When he asked why, I told him I may be poor but I have my pride and dignity. Now that we’re married and he brought me and my kids to the US, I make my own money. I work my @$$ off to support myself and my kids. It feels good to buy stuff from the money you earned yourself. My kids have what they need and want. It’s sad to think that some Filipinos think of foreigners as money machines. Di nila alam na kayod-kalabaw din sila. Here in the US they’re not as rich as some Filipinos think.
