Why the hell are people saying that Taemin is undeserving of having a solo debut before the others? How I see it is he is THE most deserving of it, and here's why: Over 6 years ago a group named SHINee debuted. You had two main vocalists who were being praised for their singing right off the bat- Onew and Jonghyun. You had a 'jack of all trades' character who was good at singing, rapping, and dancing- Key. You had a strong, masculine individual who provided the crucial vocal undertone and was the main rapper- Minho. Then you had a cutsey boy who has incredible dancing ability and not much else going for him- Taemin. I saw a bit from an interview with taemin where he basically said he was told he was tone deaf and should not persue improving his singing abilities. He was told by friends to just focus on dancing. But thats not what he wanted to be. He wanted to be an awesome stage presence able to stand on his own and make others happy doing so. So what did he do about his dilemma? He worked. Hard. He worked his ass off when people told him it was a wasted effort. He kept practicing singing when he was still just seen as the "dancer". I believe you can first see the results of this in Sherlock. He had solid parts in singing and did oustanding in his dancing. Then in dream girl, I saw a lot of people praise him for having that drawn out note just before Minho's rap that in theory should have gone to Jonghyun. Then in WSS, Taemin took nearly ALL of jonghyuns parts in the mv, which three or four years ago would have been split between Onew and Key. In Everybody, He stood as a main vocalist right up there with the rest of them WHILE slaying that dance. Plus, we have to keep in mind the oh so many ost sountracks and singles he's produced, quickly gaining experience and popularity amoung the people who are exclusively KDrama fans. And now we're here. Its shocking for some and long overdue for others. But remember: this is what he wants so badly. He worked so hard to get to this point. And now when he's presenting a solo album, proving all those people who told him it was a waste of time wrong. And you have the balls to say he doesn't deserve it as much as Onew or Jonghyun? Some would argue his vocal abilities are still inferior to theirs, but look at the GROWTH. To advance as much as he has is incredible, and that DESERVES to be shown off.
