For those wondering: Chutou had more than 1.5 million followers on Douyin through videos of his travels with his owner, a Chinese travel influencer known as Guo. He reportedly disappeared from his family’s property in Henan province on May 11, 2026. CCTV allegedly showed people taking him away. His owner later reportedly learned that Chutou had been sold for 180 yuan (roughly US$25–27) and then sold onward to a restaurant. Reports say Chutou was subsequently killed and consumed. His owner sought legal action, and the case generated substantial discussion about pet theft and animal-protection laws in China.
