“Fun Fact: the dursleys are not, in any way, shape, or form, Harry's legal guardians. Dumbledore dumped him on their doorstep without filling out any paperwork (which woulda been well outside his remit as he had no legal standing as Harry's guardian either). McGonagall might have had some legal standing if she had been mentioned in the will but she was very much against this placement so that is moot. The dursleys certainly didn't adopt him. And there's no way lily or James listed them as potential guardians in their wills. This placement was extremely illegal.”
